DALTON - John Tate Banks, 81, Dalton, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
He was born on July 4,1942 in Ellijay to the late Dennis and Ola Banks. John is a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In his spare time you would find him hunting, fishing, gardening, mowing grass or attending a gospel singing.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife of 41 years, Juanita Hayes Banks; wife of 13 years, Faye Banks; son, Tony Johnson; daughter, Cindy Ensley; and brothers, Donny Banks and Arnold Lee Banks.
He is survived by his sons, Chris (Shannon) Banks, Dalton, and Mike Johnson, Winder; daughters, Michelle (Jody) Seawright, Statham, Lisa (Alan) Ledford, Dalton, and Terri Jones, Statham; son-in-law Evans Ensley, Ellijay; brother, D.L. (Wilma) Banks; sisters, Virginia (Jackie) Wyatt and Margaret (Johnny) Weathers; grandchildren, Adam (Mandy) Banks, Matthew (Lindsay) Banks, Emily (Klayton) Beard, Carli (Zack) Bowen, Cole Ledford, Jodi Johnson, Dustin Seawright, Riley Seawright, Jake Ruark, Peyton Seawright and Ashleigh (Billy Joe) Willoughby; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
