Deputies with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man running down the Bethlehem Church Road shouting for help just after 1 p.m. on April 13.
The caller advised the white male got into his vehicle and said she was being chased, then got out of the vehicle and ran towards his backyard.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers were flagged down by Anna Ross, who lives at 1218 Bethlehem Church Road, and discovered the man, identified as Sean Brown, hiding behind boxes in her attic upon arriving home.
William Deal, another resident of the home, told officers that although he was home when the Brown broke in, he only became aware of the situation when he heard Ross yelling. He said Brown tried to hide under his pickup truck in his garage when police arrived.
According to Brown, he was at a friends house on Bethlehem Church Road and believed someone was trying to kill him, so he ran. He said he was running from someone who had guns and sniper rifles. He was unable to tell officers who was chasing him, or from where, but said it was someone he knew that accused him of messing with their sister and wife and was trying to kill him. Officers noted Brown exhibited several physical manifestations consistent with drug use, including shaking, constantly looking over his shoulder, constricted pupils and his statements did not make sense. He later admitted to having methamphetamine in his system.
He told officers he entered Ross and Deal’s home by throwing a rock through the glass front door, however it was later confirmed he used a stone head statue to break in. In addition to the front door being completely busted out Brown also damaged drywall in the home in several places.
Brown was placed under arrest and charged with burglary-forced entry and criminal damage to property.
