Too many local items to get to this week to focus on just one issue. Let’s ponder for a moment:
•The recent decision by the Statham City Council to pass an ordinance limiting citizens to the ownership of three dogs is a gross overstep of a municipality’s real responsibility.
It is not the duty of any city council to tell a citizen how many dogs he or she can own. There are many responsible pet owners who have four, five or more dogs. As long as the animals are being provided for and given proper veterinary care, government, local or otherwise, should not be dictating how many dogs can be at a home.
