EDITORIAL: Secret Barrow BOC meeting wasn’t smart

The meeting last week between the Barrow County Board of Commissioners and members of its airport authority appears to have been legal. But that doesn’t mean the decision to hold such a secret meeting between members of two local government agencies was a good idea.

IF A GOVERNMENT wants to rile up citizens, all it has to do is talk about putting a landfill or an airport in their backyard. Both issues breed large amounts of controversy and tend to shape opponents into strong political coalitions. [Full Story »]

Dear Editor:
My name is Donna Frost and I applaud the editorial, “Trouble brewing in Barrow over Airport, in the February 8 edition of The Braselton News.

I am a member of the Concerned Barrow Citizens/Airport Watch Group and have been for the past 5 months. Also, I am a life-long resident of Barrow County and I live near the Northeast Georgia Regional Airport.
