Citizens in Bethlehem showed no interest in the town’s proposed budget for 2015 during a public hearing Monday night.
No citizens turned out to comment on the proposed figures, which are now set to be approved during the Feb. 2 meeting.
Bethlehem has a proposed operating expense for 2015 of $295,620 for its new fiscal year with the proposed revenue intake of the same amount.
In 2014, Bethlehem went over its budgeted $260,060 by approximately $80,000.
The biggest expense in 2014 was road SPLOST, which had been estimated at $30,000, although the town used $104,000 in that area.
Major expenses for 2015 for Bethlehem includes: road maintenance ($25,112); utilities ($15,600); salary ($33,000); legal fees ($15,000); and capital outlay ($30,000).
