A Hoschton man was killed by a full-grown bull in his pasture off Hwy. 332 on Friday, April 3, Jackson County EMS director Steve Nichols reported. The victim was 75-year-old James Capes.
Emergency responders were called to the incident location at 8:03 p.m. for a report of a person down from an animal attack.
Responders included Jackson Trail Rescue, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and Jackson County EMS. The victim was dead upon arrival.
The animal was held at bay by the sheriff’s office while first responders retrieved the victim.
The Jackson County Coroner’s Office is reviewing the case along with the sheriff’s office.
There were no other injuries reported.
