The Barrow County Health Department’s last day of services at its current location off East Broad Street is Wednesday, April 16. For the relocation to its renovated facility at 15 Porter St. in downtown Winder, the department will be closed April 17-23, according to a press release.
Following the move, the department will have a grand-opening celebration for the public from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, April 24. The six-hour event will include free health screenings, tours and even door prizes. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 11:30 a.m.
Then the health department will resume normal business hours on Friday, April 25. It opens at 8 a.m. weekdays and closes at 6:30 p.m. Mondays; at 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; and at 1:30 p.m. on Fridays.
