An Auburn man was arrested after a discussion about paying bills escalated into a physical altercation with his wife.
Victor Fuentes, 31, 1212 Bradford Park Lane, Auburn, was charged with simple battery and family violence in connection with the October 13 incident.
According to Fuentes’ wife, Fuentes became irate because there was no money with which to pay the couple’s past due bills.
Fuentes then allegedly tried to strike his wife with the telephone. His wife attempted to evade him, but Fuentes eventually cornered her. At that point, his wife struck him wife a tea cup, cutting his hand. Fuentes then called police to file a complaint against his wife.
Fuentes’ children were home at the time of the incident. According to the report, Fuentes’ nine year old son became upset when he realized his father was being taken to jail.
