The career law-enforcement man appointed last week as the new director of Barrow County Animal Control has declined the position. Bobby Tribble said he notified county officials Monday, which was to have been his first day on the job.
“I don’t really have time to devote to it,” Tribble said. “I’ve got retirement coming in. I’m working a part-time job, and I have kids and grandkids. I just don’t have time to devote to it.”
But it appears that Tribble declined the job only after the Barrow Journal raised questions about his troubled work history, a history that Barrow County leaders apparently failed to check out before recommending him to the board of commissioners for the animal control position.
