The polls for the 2013 municipal elections closed at 7 p.m., and some candidates and their supporters are at the Barrow County elections office awaiting the results.
Two of the people arriving at the elections office said Winder election workers posted Tuesday's in-person vote totals on the windows of the Winder Community Center. Those very preliminary — and unofficial — results indicate that incumbent Bob Dixon will face challenger Lorin Sinn-Clark in a December runoff.
However, Tuesday's tallies will have to be combined with the results of three weeks of advance voting and additional absentee ballots before the final results are known.
