The Scenic RC Flyers group will be hosting a radio controlled aircraft demonstration on Saturday, October 25 at noon and 4 p.m.
Event organizer Lee Mills said spectators will get to see several different types of airplanes including helicopters and aerobatic planes.
“There are a wide variety of airplanes,” he said. “We have civilian and military. You’ll get to see all types.”
The group has 63 members. Mills said many of the RC pilots will be flying their planes at the event. Group members will also have trainer planes available so that spectators can try their hand at piloting the aircraft.
The event will also feature a contest for younger spectators in which participants will attempt to “shoot down” a remote controlled aircraft with a paintball gun.
Concessions will be available at the air field.
The fly-in will be held in Statham. To reach the field, take 316 east towards Statham. Turn left on Wall Road and go one-quarter mile. The field is located on the right.
