The Barrow County Drug Court has announced that Brad Smith, Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney, will be the featured speaker at the Court’s next commencement. Graduation exercises will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Barrow County Courthouse, 652 Barrow Park Drive, in Winder.
After graduating with honors from The Citadel, Smith received his law degree from the University of Virginia, in 1996. He first began working as an assistant district attorney in the Circuit (comprising Barrow, Banks and Jackson Counties) in 1997. Smith was elected to the position of District Attorney in 2009 and is currently serving his second term.
The District Attorney’s office is among several “stakeholders” in the Drug Court.
