Garage fire under investigation

The Fire Investigation Unit and Barrow County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a Monday morning garage fire.

The detached garage, located at 225 Stag Court, had flames showing from the structure when fire crews arrived.

“Firefighters were able to perform a very rapid knockdown of the fire,” said Lieutenant Scott Dakin of Barrow County Fire and Emergency Services. “This prevented any additional damage to the garage.”

Firefighters remained on scene to perform salvage and overhaul. The cause of the fire is listed as suspicious.
