Due to a loss of money from its community rental buildings as well as security concerns, the Statham City Council discussed the possible relocation of city hall at its recent work session. The council discussed moving city hall into the community center across the street, and either renting out the additional offices, turning them into administrative offices or using them as a new location for the Statham Police Department. The city’s other two rental buildings would remain the same. The community rental buildings have lost approximately $4,000 this fiscal year. The council and police chief Steve Martin are also concerned about the lack of security for city employees in the current city hall.
