The McCain-Palin campaign has announced its Georgians of Faith Statewide Leadership team, which includes several local residents.
Georgians of Faith is a grassroots organization dedicated to sharing John McCain's message of peace and prosperity with citizens of faith throughout the state of Georgia, according to a campaign statement.
Local residents named to the statewide steering committee include: Kelly Ally, Braselton; Paula Foil, Winder; and Tim Echols, a former Jackson County resident.
Georgians of Faith State Chair Sadie Fields said she was honored to join with fellow Georgians and with people of faith to support the candidacy of John Mccain and Sarah Palin.
"I have not seen this much excitement for a presidential race in many years," said Fields. "John McCain brings a service of sacrifice to this country. Having been a prisoner of war for over five years, the Senator has been tested and tried in the most difficult of circumstances, and is more than ready to be the commander in chief of this great country. The addition of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as the vice presidential nominee gives all Georgians -- indeed all Americans -- a ticket we can get behind with enthusiasm. Senator McCain and Governor Palin are more than ready to lead this country with strength and conviction during the challenges we face in an uncertain world."
