At a called meeting Tuesday night, the Winder City Council unanimously appointed Alfonza Brown to serve in the seat left by former Ward 2 council Charlie Eberhart who died Jan. 30. Eberhart held the seat for 22 years. Brown was one of seven applicants for the position. Brown stated on his sign-up form that he has been a resident of the election ward for more than 30 years, and he listed his occupation as a volunteer.

Excellent choice. I don't know of anyone who cares more for this community than Al does.
