The Georgia Piedmont Arts Center (GPAC) has finally found a new home.
Earlier this year, GPAC’s lease with the City of Winder ended. Since that time, the artists’ group has been searching for a new location to hold art classes, camps and shows and display the works of the over 50 artists affiliated with the group.
Beginning November 1, GPAC will be housed at 88 Griffith Street in Winder. The building, called Midland Station, is located three blocks east of N. Broad Street at the corner of Griffith and Midland.
Thanks to the generosity of Wayne Bartlett, the owner of the Midland Station, GPAC was able to remain in Winder.
The grand opening will be Saturday, November 15, 2008. The event coincides with GPAC’s annual “Harvest of Art” festival and art show. The show is a judged show and is open to all artists.
This year, the artist group will be awarding the “Bartlett’s Choice Award” in recognition of Wayne Bartlett’s generosity and support of GPAC. The judges will be Robert and Dora Strother from Stone Mountain, Ga.
