The Barrow County Board of Education on Feb. 26 will consider annexation requests from two local municipalities. Winder officials want to annex the 8.44-acre site of the school bus garage on Hal Jackson Road, because it is one of the unincorporated islands in the city. Bethlehem officials want to annex Bethlehem Elementary School, which is adjacent to the town. Also on the agenda of the 6 p.m. meeting are two spending requests that would move the school system toward a paperless information system. The first request is for a single-source data warehouse to provide “real-time information about individuals, groups or sub groups that are being tracked or that need to be tracked to measure the effectiveness of intervention strategies and key performance indicators,” according to the meeting packet. The second program would enable parents to pre-register students online in the fall. The meeting is open to the public and will be at 179 W. Athens St.
