The Barrow County Board of Commissioners is hosting a community open house Tuesday, Feb. 19, for the West Winder Bypass project. The open house will feature displays of the proposed alignment, and transportation staff will be available to answer questions. The proposed project includes a new interchange at Highway 316 and Patrick Mill Road, a four-lane road utilizing Patrick Mill Road to a bridge over the CSX tracks and Hwy. 8, and continuing to a new intersection of the bypass at Highway 211 near Barrow Park Drive.
Written comments will be accepted until Tuesday, March 19. Send correspondence to Darrell Greeson, manager of Barrow County Engineering Department, 233 E. Broad St., Winder, Ga. 30680.

I heard at the openhouse that the feds are paying for everything. We might as well take it, cause we will never get another chance like that. Been waitin 25 years for a bypass and now feds say they will pay - hell yeah better take it.
