The Civil Rights Act of 1964 enjoyed wide bipartisan support, contrary to your claim. Republicans voted to pass the bill in the House and the Senate at rates of 80% and 82%, while Democrats, holding wide majorities in both houses, voted to pass it at rates of 63% and 69%, respectively. You're also wrong about the Southern Democrats, actually one single Southern Democratic Senator supported the Act, Ralph Yarborough of Texas. No Southern Republican Senators voted for the Act (but there was only one). You seem to think that "partisan" means being zealous in favor of one's ideology. It actually means a willingness to put party before country, which too many Republicans and Democrats are willing to do. It means printing nonsense when the facts are easily ascertained.
"...which too many Republicans and Democrats are willing to do. It means printing nonsense when the facts are easily ascertained."
You NAILED it.
If our elected "leaders" (I use the term very, very loosely) would vote for and DO the right things for OUR COUNTRY instead of for their PARTY (or their own bank accounts), we wouldn't have nearly as many problems that seemingly can't be solved.
If people would look past the end of their nose and see the truth, instead of trying to blame the "other party", you would see a lot less of the nonsense. But, it seems apparent that MOST people aren't bright enough to realize the difference between horse-hockey and a real FACT even when it’s tossed right into their face.
I am continually surprised (although by now I shouldn't be!) by how often I hear or read comments made by people that make absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL, and its usually nothing more than a repetition of some twisted half-truth spouted by some bigot or political hack.
I am amazed by the people who think that they are SO smart and loudly proclaim their "wisdom" for all to hear, not realizing that they are blatantly showing the world just how stupid they really are.
It’s shameful and embarrassing.

Great post Ken! It is about time that Republican leadership stands up for the truth. I support your position, and will continue to do so. Keep up the great work for the Republican Party here in Barrow County! We appreciate your hard work!
