The arrest of a Winder Police Department officer last week and the subsequent handling of her case has raised some serious questions about the possibility that the officer received special treatment by the Barrow County Magistrate Court. Officer Tracy Wild was arrested on Dec. 4 on a bad check warrant, but within days her case had been adjudicated by the court and her record expunged. The handling of the case raises issues about not only the move to expunge her record, but also whether or not she really did the community service hours the court required. The arrest and information that this wasn't the first bad check Wild has had to deal with has now led to an internal investigation at the WPD as well.
