In a historic vote Tuesday night, the Barrow County Board of Commissioners unanimously agreed to hire former Gwinnett County administrator Jock A. Connell as the first county manager. The BOC also voted unanimously to approve Connell’s employment contract, which takes effect Jan. 1, 2013 and includes over $158,000 in salary, benefits and perks in the coming year. His base salary is $135,000, which is at the top of the advertised pay scale for the position.

Here is a waste of money. This county does not need a county manager.

The reality is that we the people voted for this, it should actually save money in the long run because people like year wood won't be able to do as much civil damage as before.the big question is what will the county attorney do now that her biggest fish is gone?
