The Barrow County Airport Authority has voted unanimously to continue meeting at 12 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.
District at Large representative Don Holliday had asked the authority to consider if the time should be changed after some citizens complained about the midday meetings.
Holliday said he has received more complaints about evening meetings than daytime ones during his tenure as an authority member. When Holliday first began serving as an authority member, meetings were held during the day. After holding evening meetings for over a year, numerous complaints caused the authority to resume the daytime meeting schedule which they have followed for the past three years.
Authority Vice-Chairman Lee Barnett opposed changing the meeting time saying that it was easier for members to meet during the day. Barnett noted that if an issue arose which would be of particular interest to the public, the authority could choose to hold a called meeting such as last month’s joint meeting with the Barrow County Board of Commissioners.
