Finalists for county manager down to two; names to be released by Nov. 27

Within days, Barrow County residents will have a good idea of who will run the day-to-day operations of their county government starting in January. Barrow County Human Resources director Charlie Felts said Monday that the names of the two top contenders for the new position of county manager would be released no later than Tuesday, Nov. 27. He said another finalist pulled his name from contention, reducing to two the number of finalists. A selection committee spent three hours on Nov. 15 interviewing both candidates. On hand for the interviews were all six of the district commissioners on the Barrow County Board of Commissioners and incoming BOC chairperson Pat Graham. She also takes office in January.
