The Barrow County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday night approved a major settlement of a federal discrimination lawsuit filed by a former supervisor. Following a closed session at the end of its regular meeting, the BOC voted 6-0 to approve a settlement in excess of $110,000 with Sophia “Tonie” Russell, the former manager of the county’s Geographic Information Services Department.
