Monday's early voting turnout in Barrow County was 904, bringing to 7,706 the number of local residents who have voted in person in the highly contested Presidential and local elections. With a total of 704 paper absentee ballots also cast, the early voting total at the end of the day Monday stood at 8,410.
The opportunity to vote early ends Friday, Nov. 2. Voting hours have been extended to 8 a.m.-8 p.m. this week.
The only place to cast early ballots in person is inside the Barrow County Board of Commissioners meeting room on the second floor of the administrative building at 233 E. Broad St., Winder. Elevators are available.
Election Day 2012 is just seven days away, and turnout next Tuesday is expected to be heavy. The polls on Nov. 6 will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
