The twin brothers behind bars in Barrow and Jackson counties for allegedly murdering a former Pensacola journalist are now facing new charges in Florida, where they will be extradited to stand trial. According to a press release Thursday from the Pensacola Police Department, the suspects killed 30-year-old Sean Dugas after robbing him of a valuable fantasy game card collection.
Pensacola police believe William Joseph Cormier III killed 30-year-old Sean Dugas with blunt force trauma to the back of his head on Aug. 27 and then went to a nearby Wal-Mart to purchase materials to conceal the remains. He was charged Thursday with homicide.
His brother, Christopher Lynn Cormier, was charged with homicide/accessory after the fact. Both also were charged with armed robbery. The 31-year-old brothers were first charged with murder and concealing the death of another in Barrow County for burying the remains of Dugas under concrete in the yard of their father’s rental home in Winder. However, those local charges will be dropped after the suspects are extradited to Florida, according to Barrow County District Attorney Brad Smith.
