Animal Control expands shelter hours

Effective Saturday, Oct. 27, Barrow County Animal Control will expand shelter and animal visitation hours to include Saturdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and Wednesdays, 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Previously the shelter was closed during those times. Animals will not be accepted for surrender during these hours.
The adoption fee for all animals is $100 and can be paid in cash, check, credit or debit card. The fee includes: vet examination, spay/neuter, a microchip, one-year rabies vaccination, first distemper/parvo vaccination, deworming.
The shelter is located at 616 Barrow Park Dr. in Winder. Adoption and viewing hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesdays, 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Strays and surrendered animals will only be accepted Monday-Friday, 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on a space available basis.
