The Barrow County Board of Education plans to change how it evaluates its superintendent’s performance, according to documents released last week. Responding to an open records request by the Barrow Journal, the BOE released a copy of its self-evaluation, which had been done at a recent board meeting behind closed doors. Although the document covers a number of topics, adjusting the board’s relationship with the superintendent and improving the system’s overall communications with the public were clearly on the board’s mind in the self-assessment process.
