The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office joined the small percentage of sheriff’s offices in Georgia to achieve state certification through the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
A formal ceremony was held Tuesday at the Barrow County Courthouse to acknowledge the accomplishment, which encompassed at least three years of preparation and a commitment from the nearly 195 men and women who work at the agency, Sheriff Jud Smith said.
