Father of twin murder suspects issues statement, blasts local gawkers

The father of the twin brothers suspected of killing a former Florida journalist and burying his remains in Winder has issued his first public statement since last week's discovery of the body.

In a lengthy statement posted on two websites Sunday afternoon, William J. Cormier II says he and other family members uninvolved in the incident are "devastated by this murder alleged to have been perpetrated by our own flesh and blood.”

Christopher Lynn Cormier and William Joseph Cormier III have both been charged with murder and with concealing the death of another person.

Calling himself a “father/journalist,” their father posted his statement on his own fledgling website, http://justanothercoverup.com, and at www.opednews.com.

He claims he is “almost as much in the dark as the general public” about what happened, because he was asleep when Sean Dugas’ remains were buried under a concrete slab outside his Winder rental home and then covered with leaves. And Cormier says the local community is unfairly blaming him and other innocent family members.

"Evidently there is a fairly large segment of this town that blames my disabled sister, her children and myself for what happened to Sean Dugas,” he wrote.

He said gawkers are driving by the house, yelling “Murderer,” and making hand gestures “as if we were the criminals rather than those who are now housed in separate County Jails.”

Not one word from this self-professed "victim" about the REAL victim in this case, viz., the murdered man. This guy protests and bleats a little too loudly. What he should do in this tragic circumstance is keep his yapper closed. An incontrovertible and inconvenient fact for him is that his boys buried a murder victim in his backyard and covered the corpse with concrete. That kind of thing is bound to generate some curiosity and bad feeling. That is he sounds so shocked and wounded is, well, just too bad.

Set up a camera, get the tag numbers. Hire a PI to get the registrations, and get you an attorney. File some deffimation lawsuits, and watch how fast this stops.

Just because one cannot spell, does not mean, one does not know what they are talking about.

Any intentional false communication, either written or spoken, that harms a person's reputation; decreases the respect, regard, or confidence in which a person is held; or induces disparaging, hostile, or disagreeable opinions or feelings against a person.

Defamation may be a criminal or civil charge. It encompasses both written statements, known as libel, and spoken statements, called slander.

Driving up and down the street (which is a public venue), and yelling out accussations of an innocent person (ie the father) does constitute defamation.

Why don't you people leave the man alone and find another place to argue? Yes, the reporter is the victim, but this man has possibly lost BOTH of his sons for life. Have a little compassion.
As for "gawkers" that just goes with the territory-people in this town have NO life and nothing else to do.
Sir: Pack up and move back to Fla. or somewhere else. You will never get any peace here in this town. Godspeed.

To the people who are defending this bozo: Are y'all taking stupid pills or something? His two "boys" killed a man then buried the body in HIS yard and then covered the dead body with concrete and HE expects us to believe that he did not know anything about it? C'mon, he may not have killed that fellow but there is NO WAY a dead body covered in concrete in YOUR yard would go unnoticed. And that makes him no better than those two oxygen thieves that he calls sons.

"Innocent until proven guilty" is a doctrine which applies to a jury in a court of law. It has nothing to with citizens forming and expressing opinions outside court.

1. Sean's head was bashed in resulting in his death.

2. Sean's body was shoved into a plastic tub.

3. The plastic tub containing Sean's body was put into a hole in this man's yard.

4. Concrete was poured over the plastic tub containing Sean's body.

5. Leaves was placed over the concrete filled hole containg the plastic tub that contained Sean's body.

Sounds to me that everyone in this home would be an accomplice to the murder of Sean Dugas. So yeah, like I said pack up and move. We dont want nor need you here. Being on gov't assistance you don't have much to offer Winder anyways. You can live off the gov't teat from just about anywhere. So what are you waiting for?

There were LOTS of LEOS on that scene and you can bet if they thought he had ANYTHING to do with it, or had ANY knowledge of it, he would be sitting in the Barrow County "Hotel" with his sons!
