Winder officials are considering a proposal to allow bow hunting on 368 undeveloped acres the city owns between Highway 53 and Miles Patrick Road. Artie Doughty, a senior maintenance supervisor at Fort Yargo State Park, pitched the idea at the city council’s work session Monday night. The council took no action on his proposal and will not take any action until after residents of surrounding neighborhoods are contacted and a public hearing is held, according to Mayor David Maynard.
