Sunflower Festival to highlight Statham

The annual City of Statham Sunflower Festival will be held Saturday.

This year’s event will feature vendors, crafts, food and fun for the kids. A car show will showcase not only antique cars but also trucks, tractors and motorcyles.
A 5K-run/walk is also planned Saturday with a 1K fun run for kids. The fun run begins at 5:30 p.m. with the 5K at 6 p.m. at Statham Elementary School.

A street dance is also scheduled at 7 p.m. A queen-sized handmade quilt will also be raffled. Proceeds will benefit local charities. The festival lasts from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with the car show from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
