Glenn B. Braselton, Jr., 85, of Athens, died Monday, March 17, 2008.
A native of Jackson County, he lived in Athens for the past 41 years and in Birmingham, Ala., for 16 years prior. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School and the University of Georgia. He completed two years at the University of Georgia School of Law and was conferred a JD degree from the Birmingham School of Law. He was retired from the University of Georgia, College of Agriculture Experiment Stations. Mr. Braselton was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II, and was a member of Milledge Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn B. Braselton III and Cathy Braselton, Port Charlotte, Fla., John C. Braselton and William D. Braselton, both of Athens; and a grandson, Steven T. Braselton, Port Charlotte, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, at 11 a.m., in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Edward Bolen officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Pendergrass Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Milledge Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund or a favorite charity.
