Bethlehem to vote on another alcohol ordinance

Bethlehem officials approved a resolution allowing voters to decide on the sale of alcohol by the drink in restaurants.
Mayor Sandy McNab has stressed without this option, the town will not be able to attract restaurants such as Longhorns or Outback in the future.
If approved, the referendum would also allow for Sunday sales in restaurants.
The special election will be March 19, 2013 as the process was too late to put before the voters during November’s election.
Bethlehem voters previously voted in July by a narrow margin to allow Sunday sales in convenience stores. McNab said the next step is to allow restaurants to sale alcohol.

Really? Your mayor see Dollar Signs that aren't there, maybe with alcohol by the drink you can also attract a strip club too and some corner bars.. Why protect the image of the town named "Bethlehem" and with biblical street names... Heres and Idea: VOTERS (all 600) -Why don't you wait until one of these places even shows any interest or makes a request for a permit first...Then you can open the flood gates.
Putting the Cart before the Horse...(your wait may be long before anywhere in Barrow has any of these places)

Sure, wait for a company to show interest in your town before you decide to allow alcohol by the drink. In the mean time, Aburn and Winder, are more attractive and in the vacinity and will be able to get the business while you guys twiddle your thumbs saying, "should we or shouldn't we?"

If you already have it, you're in the game.

I just love these bible thumpers who want to force their views and beliefs on others. Face it...you're not worried about what you might or might not do....you're worried what EVERYONE else does.

Bethlehem is the birth place of Jesus. If you defile the city by voting for the devil juice god will lift his hand of protection, and the Islamic terrorist will attack you.

You're absolutely right, Bethlehem is the birth place of Jesus. However, his birth certificate doesn't read Bethlehem, Georgia.
