The Auburn City Council hired a new city clerk last week, along with approving several other personnel changes. The council unanimously approved Janice Brown as the city’s new clerk. Brown was sworn in by Mayor Linda Blechinger during the meeting and will be paid $36,275 a year.
The council also approved an organizational chart revision and change of the city accountant position. That position will answer now to city administrator Ron Griffith. And the council unanimously agreed to a contract with Duriel “Dru” Blackstock to take over for Robert Fox as Auburn’s certified and licensed water quality tester.
The council also heard a final report from development director Sherrie Miller, who announced her retirement. Miller’s position was cut from the FY2013 budget. Some of her responsibilities are now part of the newly classified economic development and planning assistant staff position being filled by another employee.
