Barrow County Sheriff’s Task Force investigators arrested David Alan Wolf, 62, of Rock Hill, South Carolina in connection with an ongoing undercover investigation involving online sexual predators. An undercover Winder Police officer assigned to the task force posed as a 34-year-old mother of an 8-year old child and chatted with Wolf online for two weeks, deputies said. The conversations were explicit and led to the man traveling to Winder on Aug. 28 with the intent of having sexual relations with the mother and child referenced in the chats, deputies said. Wolf was arrested without incident and charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children.

If every other county put this much effort into exposing these sickos, instead of arresting guys for peeing parking lots... we'd be cleaning up a lot more scum.

Instead the other counties are babysitting grown mean... whent they should be protecting our children!

WINDER - A sheriff's deputy who was arrested on child pornography charges has been released on bond.

But Jason David Gaub faces a number of restrictions.

As a condition of his $50,000 bond, Gaub, 32, cannot possess a firearm or computer, is barred from being within 300 feet of a child or contacting any child and has agreed to let authorities search his home at any time.

Gaub was arrested at his home last week on 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. He was fired immediately from his job as a deputy, Barrow County sheriff's Capt. Murray Kogod said.

Gaub's arrest came after a three-month joint investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Barrow County Sheriff's Office, officials said.

Well done. You've exposed them all. Because one ahole had child porn, they all must. "Poof" Really? If the other deputies could have gotten their hands on him, his arrest would have been the least of his worries. Gaub entered a blind plea. DA recommended 20 do 10. It was the judge that sentenced him to 8 do 3. #2 you really know your stuff. Not one of Barrow Sheriffs cases were dropped due to entrapment. Once again, the judge in several cases said these were "victimless" crimes because no child was ever really in danger. Based on your post, its not so bad for an adult to attempt to have sex with a child if the child (officer) talks dirty back. Just keep being a sheep. The sheepdogs will keep the wolves away. (Based on your post, if the Sheriff Deputies could have gotten thier hands on Gaub, they would have violated thier oaths and had a vigilante style punishment in store for him?)
The original comment stated nothing of equating all of the fine men and women of law enforcement in our Barrow system of any criminal activities what so ever other than Gaub. Your own assumptions have led you to untruths and fictional folly. Thank you.

The internet is a really big place - why is the Barrow County Sheriff's department spending time and money policing it (and bringing criminals INTO the county while do so) instead of spending it here?

I hate to tell you, but these criminals are already coming into Barrow County. The LEOs are just trying to make them think twice before they come some more. I hope you are not as naive to think they dont come here already. Well done LEOs!

Yes. That is what that post says. Unfortunately long gone are the days when good men dealt with predators who pray on children.

i say there Barrow and the other departments are ducks swimming in a new pond and there is something to be said for learning early because soon it will be needed full time..And i say go back to a time of old where these pervs are dealt with out back ,, and lets the cops write a report of found him out back with no teeth and the justin loco imprinted on the tale ,,,good job to our local cops who by the way have proven if you break the law no matter what you do for a living they will treat you like the rest of our fine probation dept. god bless

Cops dont you have anything better to do than play "to catch a predator?" Odin is right the cops create crime. More times than not they are the worse criminals. I love the guy comparing cops to sheepdogs protecting us all from "wolves". Yes we are all a bunch of scared little sheep. The cops are the wolves they are the ones who hold a gun to your head while the criminal government steals your money and property.
