In an effort to decrease noise and increase safety, the Barrow County Airport Authority recently voted to place noise abatement signs on runways and change the suggested flight pattern in and out of the airport. The signs will request that pilots avoid flying over heavily populated areas, which means the City of Winder. The take off and landing flight pattern will also circle around Winder, rather than fly over it. In addition to the signage, the information will be posted on the airport's website.
