A family of four was displaced by an Aug. 24 fire that heavily damaged a Barrow County home.
The emergency was reported at 7:32 a.m., and two fire engines and a medical unit were dispatched. When firefighters arrived at the house in the 400 block of Cedar Valley Trail, flames were coming through the roof.
A third engine was dispatched because of the lack of fire hydrants in the area, and firefighters brought the blaze quickly under control, according to a press release from Barrow County Emergency Services.
The American Red Cross assisted the family, and the department's Fire Investigation Team began an investigation of the cause of the fire, the press release states.
