Mike Williams was recently honored by members of Barrow County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) as a “CERT Champion.”
Dave Muller, vice president of the Barrow County CERT, said Williams and his employer, Stepan Corporation have supported the organization since it was established in Barrow County. The first CERT class in Barrow County took place in 2006, when Williams arranged to have Stepan Corporation donate the emergency response kits to the students. Williams is the third CERT champion for Barrow County. Other CERT champions were Maj. Murray Kogod of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office and Lt. Scott Dakin of the Barrow County Fire and Emergency Services.
