Boyfriends fight over woman in parking lot
An apparent love triangle ended when one of two boyfriends of a woman was arrested following a fight in a parking lot at Mayfield Dairy, according to an incident report from the Braselton Police Department.
An officer said when he arrived at the Broadway Avenue (Ga. Hwy. 124) plant, several people standing in the parking lot pointed to a man. Another officer talked to a second man that was bleeding from his nose.
That man said while he was speaking to a woman at his motorcycle, another man punched him several times.
The man who punched the victim admitted to hitting him because he was talking to his girlfriend, according to police. The man had several blood stains on his shirt that he said came from the victim.
The woman told police that both men were boyfriends, although she had been trying to get of rid one of the men for more than a year and he wouldn’t leave. The woman said she was talking to the victim when her other boyfriend started punching him and took him to the ground.
After police learned how the suspect — identified as Jonathan Adam Richardson, 30, of Winder — entered the property, he was arrested for criminal trespass and battery.
A manager at Mayfield Dairy said he would press charges against Richardson because he entered the property without authorization. His vehicle was towed from the property, as well.
Richardson was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
Braselton Incidents
The following incidents were reported to the Braselton Police Department last week:
•unruly juvenile at a White Walnut Way address, where a woman said she had an argument with her daughter, who became upset when the woman turned off her cell phone for not obeying her. The mother said she had been dealing with disciplinary issues over several issues with her daughter, who went to a friend’s house when she was told that she was grounded. The daughter asked to stay with her father, who later arrived and took custody of the girl.
•dispute at a Wallace Falls Drive address, where a man said workers from a neighboring property were driving on his land and the vehicles could possibly damage his in-ground sprinklers. Police said they could see fresh tires tracks in the dew of the grass. A man working on the neighboring property said he didn’t drive on the man’s property and it was possibly the owner who did it. The workers said they wouldn’t drive on the man’s property.
•recovery of stolen property at Shell Food Mart on Ga. Hwy. 211, where an officer stopped a van because an automatic license plate reader on his patrol vehicle said the license plate on the van was reported as stolen. The driver of the van said his company sent him another tag, but he didn’t place it on the vehicle because the tag was still within its registration date. The other tag was in the van. An officer checked the other tag, which was registered to the same van. The officer took the tag that was reported as stolen and placed it in evidence. That tag was removed from a state crime database.
•burglary at a Ga. Hwy. 53 address, where a man said someone knocked out the window to his office and entered his business. The man said nothing was stolen. An officer said he noticed glass from the window and dirt on the floor. There were no footprints around the building, although a very heavy rain storm had just passed over the area.
•lost or mislaid property at a Summer Glen Drive address, where a woman said she was unable to find her wallet after making several stops at retailers in Gwinnett County. The woman last recalled seeing her wallet at Zaxby’s on Ga. Hwy. 53 in Braselton. The woman said she returned to the businesses, but her wallet wasn’t located. The wallet contained her debit card, credit cards, driver’ licenses, and Social Security cards for the woman and her two-year-old daughter. The woman canceled her debit and credit cards. An officer told her she would need to contact the Social Security Administration, as well.
•possession of less than one ounce of marijuana on Interstate 85, where an officer found four marijuana cigarettes in a boot of a vehicle that was stopped for making improper lane changes. The New Jersey man driving the vehicle appeared extremely nervous during the traffic stop and gave the officer conflicting stories about his travel destination, according to an incident report. The man allowed the officer to search his vehicle. The man’s driver’s license had been “dropped” by authorities in New Jersey. The man was given a citation for the marijuana and released from the scene.
•damage to property at a Commons Drive address, where a woman said someone damaged her car by denting the driver’s side doors and a rear door. The woman said her co-workers at Zaxby’s told her there was someone standing by her car, but by the time she got there, the person was gone. The woman said the person described as standing by her car possibly could have been her ex-boyfriend.
•damage to property on I-85, where a blown tire damaged a vehicle.
•damage to property on I-85, where a tire on a tractor-trailer truck blew and damaged the window of a car.
