A finance company damaged by the July 3 fire in downtown Winder temporarily relocated its office a block away from the scene. The only business displaced by the incident, Broad Street Finance Company, reopened at full capacity this week at 35 North Broad Street.
Owner Jeffery Smith said he was told renovation of his business’s damaged office at 5 East Athens Street will take between 45 and 60 days.
“When they put the fire out in the upper portion of the building, we got all the water damage, half the roof fell in,” Smith said. “Everybody was lucky.”
