Auburn to discuss budget

The Auburn City Council will meet for two budget workshops next week where department heads plan to go over proposed spending plans and revenue projections for 2013. The meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 p.m. Monday, July 16 at city hall.
In other Auburn news, the town council last week also amended the city’s personnel policy to include an outline of how travel expenses are handled.
The policy, unanimously passed at the council’s July 5 meeting, establishes rules for authorizing, accounting and auditing trips taken for city business purposes. Also detailed is how compensation will occur for an employee’s use of personal items during such trips, including vehicles, cell phones and laundry services.
