Statham police investigate home invasion

Statham police are investigating a home invasion that happened around 11:25 a.m. Monday at a home on Noah Lane.
A white male armed with a handgun and wearing a dark hoodie, ski mask and jeans entered the residence and took an unspecified amount of cash, police said, before fleeing in a dark-colored pick-up truck.
The robbery is not believed to be random, Officer Michael B. Pruitt said, adding that citizens' safety is not at risk.
Anyone with information about the crime or vehicle matching the description is asked to call Statham Police Department at (770) 725-5992.

I can honestly tell you through the years I've lived in Statham,the Statham Police Department gas grown to several officers and have done an excellent job in keeping our streets safe. You can rest assured that more than 2 police officers showed up at a call such as this.Your Andy and Barney joke is not taken lightly in a serious matter such as this.

SPD now employs 8 officers and all of them specialize in the roles. They have a Investigator, drug K-9, etc. Their officers have on average 12 years in experience up to 25 years. This s NOT the Statham Police Department of old as is evidenced by their case clearance by arrest and their response to the more violent crimes that are happening in town.

they do, subway and the two roads out of town! they love to keep an eye on things, at least they arent hanging out in 316, at least they focus protecting the aras where the people they have taken an oath to live and work. not the state highway close by but not in the city. kudos to Statham, keeping restraint with keeping a watchful eye.

Do they really expect to get many tips with such vague information as this? A dark-colored pick-up truck? Doesn't that cover about 1/2 of the vehicles in the county?

This article was intended to notify and inform the public. If you "Read between the lines" and know how most criminals operate you would know they like to brag. The request for "anyone with information" is obviously relating to anyone with direct knowledge due to this bragging or anyone who may have been in that area yesterday at that aprroximate time. No intent to cause drama; just clarify article intent.
