The second of three candidate forums sponsored by the Barrow County Republican Party will be tonight at 7 at Bramlett Elementary School's gymnasium. At the forum will be candidates in the races for the Barrow County Board of Education, Chief Magistrate, State House District 114 and Senate District 47.

Since this forum is an outreach to voters in the Auburn area, and none of the Barrow County Board of Commissioners district races includes Auburn, the BOC candidates are not participating in this event. However, Pat Graham, who is unopposed for the chairman's spot, will speak, as will Sheriff Jud Smith, who is unopposed for the Republican nomination.

Also scheduled to speak tonight will be Steve Simpson of Milledgeville, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Paul Broun for his Congressional seat.

The final GOP forum will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Statham Elementary School.

In addition, the Barrow County Farm Bureau is sponsoring a meet-the-candidates event next week. A total of 25 Republican and Democratic candidates have been invited to participate at that event, which will begin at the Winder Community Center.

DOOOOOOOOWAYNE, come on. I figured you would had your nonsense in here already. Seems people love you on the watchers blog also. So, whose wife are you going to try to be tonight. Word is, Brown is already wanting to fire you because you are telling people that y'all are talking. You are blind dude. Too funny.

Thanks to Chairman Ken Young and the Barrow Republican Party for hosting this event. I hope this forum will draw a good crowd for the candidates.

The problem with this joke Duwayne, when he talks about who he is supporting, that person gets screwed. Basically, he wants so bad to be a good ole boy and be in the "in" crowd, he screws it up for everyone. The church people make fun of him. He can't even see what is going on around him. Just shut up. Or as we have read on several blogs, just get a job. We don't want your support public.

I have told DuWayne this before. I even told him about the people that talk behind his back on Sundays. He want listen. He has three little buddies that tell him he is doing a good job and to keep it up. He can never be the "in crowd" because he talks to much. He reads articles in other newspaper and online then repeats them here. He has never had a real idea from himslef, it has always come from somewhere he read or heard from the TV or radio.

Duwaume. I don't know you personally,however, I do apprediate your insights. I don't always agree with you and your statements but I do appreciate your educated comments...unlike some of your detractors.

Don't pay attention to those who would try and keep your opinions down.

did anyone go to the Auburn forum last night? saw that anderson fella there. didn't someone say he doesn't bother to go to candidate events? not true. he does go.

Your are incorrect again. I have attended both Republican Forums in Winder, and Auburn. Just setting the record straight for all of you that are tired of mis-information by some on this site. Meet and greets are all fine and well, however they do not have the impact that the public forums offer. If I need information on a candidate, I will pick up the phone and call them. All their contact information is available to any voter that wants it.

As I suspected....... no back bone at all. Just a simple trouble maker that hides behind fake blog posts...... Barrow now knows that is all you are good for.......we understand now...... Thank for clearing that up... why did you wait so long???

No, I suspect that what bothers you the most, is that you don't have the backbone to tell the citizens of Barrow who you really are, because you don't want to be accountable for your actions. Well Bob, you showed the rest of count. Dumbwayne does have (1) friend. From what I read, he makes a pretty good wife. Perhaps you should go to his "blog" in the other paper. He is the only that ever comments on his blog. Typical, I'm sure he talks to himself all the time. He is the only one that listen to himself. Make him feel special and chat with him over there.
