Two weeks after the current chairman of the Barrow County Board of Commissioners made a surprise announcement opposing the regional transportation sales tax going before voters July 31, the person expected to be the next county chairman said she does support it. “I hope the voters in Barrow County will carefully examine the road projects that are proposed for our region and make an informed decision when they cast their ballots,” said Pat Graham, who is unopposed in the July 31 Republican primary and has no Democratic opponents in the Nov. 6 general election. “I believe the projects for Barrow County were selected with a focus on economic development and job growth for our county and region,” she explained. “I believe that a 10-year T-SPLOST is the fairest way to fund our transportation needs, and I respect our voters’ right to decide the issue during this election cycle.”
For the full story, see the July 4 issue of the Barrow Journal.

My concern is how Lampp and Brown will spend the T-SPLOST if they are re-elected. Those two won't be taking their marching orders from Graham, they will be taking them from Garrison.
District 1 & 2, don't vote for Brown or Lampp.
We don't need the old land grabbing, airport, spend the county into the red crowd back in office.

Share of transportation funds for localities does not require project list
By Ariel Hart and Paige Cornwell
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
...Everyone believed that would mean a list from each county and city” before the vote, he said.
But nothing in the law required that. And while the law required the regions to set standards and goals for the regional lists, the local money has almost no rules, except that it go for "transportation". ...
The Airport IS Transportation...
In Barrow speak, that means "All that money" COULD GO to the airport...
Given the PR Spin from both Garrison and the GDOT Report for the old Airport BOC (Lampp and Brown), it looks like that's the GOB (Not GOP) party plan...
Seems like a lot of scare tactics.
Only if the vote passes, and the money collected, will it be spent.
We the people of barrow will support you if you run a write in campaigned for chairman. What do Khoi sy?
Time to drop the grudge match rhetoric, and move on, so Barrow can prosper.......
