Winder is kicking off the traditional start of summer with its annual ‘Summerfest’ featuring midway rides, games, music and food. Entertainment this weekend includes performances by Mike McIntire, Vertically Challenged, Arcado, Southern Relics, Scarlet Stitch and Show Time on Saturday, May 26; Mobile DJ Service by Kelly Martin on Sunday, May 27; and Vancouver, Not Quite Devils on Monday, May 28.
The festival is in the Jug Tavern Park adjacent to the Winder Community Center on East Athens Street.
It runs through June 3. Hours are 5-11 p.m. both Fridays; noon-11 p.m. both Saturdays; 1-10 p.m. both Sundays; noon to 10 p.m. on Memorial Day; and 5-10 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 29-31. Discount coupons are available at www.windergaevents.org under the ‘Summerfest’ link.
