The Barrow County Water and Sewerage Authority approved an hourly contract for an attorney to execute wholesale water contracts with Auburn, Braselton, Statham and Winder. Winder-attorney Wayne McLocklin will be paid $175 to renegotiate the contracts.
The authority also unanimously approved Tuesday night a contract in the amount of $61,920 to Keith Hayes Construction for work done at the department’s new building off of Highway 211 at the site of the old Holsenbeck Fire Station. Director Myron Garrett gave the board an update on the work already done, which includes installed HVAC, hot water heater, bathroom sinks, bookshelves, stained doors and paint. The building is still awaiting flooring. WASA Chairman Stan Coley said he had been twice to the new location and was “quite pleased with the quality of workmanship that is being done.”
