Ex-boyfriend stalks woman from woods

The woman said a co-worker at The Home Depot distribution center on Broadway Avenue told her that her ex-boyfriend was sitting in a truck in the parking lot. The woman said there have been other times that her ex-boyfriend has been around the Home Depot’s property, although those incidents weren’t reported to police.

At times, the woman said that the ex-boyfriend has been in the woods across the street from the distribution center using binoculars to watch her in the company’s break room, according to an incident report.

The woman’s stepfather has also had to tell the ex-boyfriend to leave his property. The woman said she has never called police about he ex-boyfriend, who is currently on parole.

An officer told the woman to call police the next time she sees the ex-boyfriend. The officer also advised her on how to get a temporary protective order issued against the man.

Other Incidents
Other incidents reported to the Braselton Police Department last week included:
•suspicious person at Kroger on Spout Springs Road, where a female employee said every time she goes outside to retrieve shopping carts, an unknown approaches her and asks random questions. The man asked the woman where she goes after she gets off of work and what time she finishes her shift. A manager said the store has video showing the man approaching the woman, or just staring at her from a door.

•theft by taking at S&S Ace Hardware on Village Way, where a manager said that a woman stole a tray of plants, valued at $84, from the store. The woman had purchased other plants and later took the tray of plants. She placed the tray in her vehicle and left. The manager said he was going to give her the opportunity to come back and pay for the plants before he pressed charges.

•possession of less than one ounce of marijuana on Interstate 85, where an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. During a traffic stop, the officer said the 18-year-old driver appeared extremely nervous. Another officer noticed marijuana seeds and a lot of ash on his shirt. The driver showed police a bag hidden in his vehicle’s power window switch that contained marijuana. The man was given citations for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and speeding. He was released from the scene.

•entering an auto at a Thompson Mill Road address, where a woman said someone stole her iPhone and a house key from her vehicle during the few minutes that she was inside a Shell gas station. The woman said she used an online program to determine her phone’s location, which showed a Hoschton address. A store video system showed a truck of the suspect that took the items, according to the woman and store clerk.

•entering an auto at the Braselton Antique Mall on Ga. Hwy. 53, where an employee said someone stole items from his truck during the night. The suspects also cut a hole in the vehicle’s gas tank and stole fuel. The stolen items included tools, pottery and glass ware, which valued at a total of $501. An officer said there was also evidence on the scene of a funnel that the suspects used to funnel gas from the truck. A store video shows the suspects at the truck.

•verbal dispute at a New Liberty Way address, where an argument between a mother and a daughter became physical. The mother said she and her juvenile have been arguing about a number of issues. During one of the arguments, the mother said she tried to destroy her daughter’s phone by holding it under water. The daughter then pushed the mother to get the phone back. They also got into a physical altercation when the daughter refused to return a house key. A Braselton officer talked to the juvenile daughter at a friend’s house. The daughter was turned over to her father’s custody for the evening.
