Schools receive SACS visit

The Barrow County Board of Education will hold a special called meeting Wednesday afternoon to hear a report given by a review board that accredits schools. The meeting will be held at 3 p.m. in the boardroom of the Professional Development Center at 179 West Athens St., Winder.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) began its routine accreditation process on Monday. According to the Barrow County School System’s website, BCSS attained district accreditation from SACS in 2007. Accredited systems have to be reaccredited every five years.
